Police in Summerside, P.E.I., are investigating a break and enter over the weekend at the Most Wanted Pawn Shop on Water Street.
'[He] took off within 25 seconds.'— Kai Weiler, store manager
There were 48 rings stolen. Store manager Kai Weiler told CBC News the security video shows exactly what happened.
"Sunday morning, I guess at 2:30 in the morning, a gentleman smashed a front window in the store and entered the building. Alarms sounded. He did a quick smash of the closest display he could and then took off within 25 seconds," said Weiler.
"It was a jewelry display that was the closest that he smashed into. It was various gold rings. It wasn't all one style or anything that he took off with."
Weiler is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. The estimated value of the rings is more than $5,000.
Police found a crow bar left on the scene. They say the man was wearing a light-colored hoodie, camouflage pants and light colored gloves.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers or Summerside police.
