A man in a wheelchair ended up in the water of the North West Arm Thursday afternoon.
He was on a boat ramp at the end of Jubilee Road, but lost control at about 2:30 p.m. and rolled into the water of the North West Arm.
Police say a person passing by saw what had happened and waded in to help.
The Good Samaritan held onto the man and his chair and kept him from drifting deeper into the water until help arrived.
Police say the water at that section was about knee deep. The boat ramp quickly drops off into the water.
Emergency services and police helped the man in the wheelchair out of the water.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution, but police say he appears to be unharmed.
