Looking for easy tool to help you eat healthier this year? Live Right Now asked Cara Rosenbloom, a registered dietitian with Heart and Stroke, for a list of her favourite mobile and laptop tools. And they're all free!

Better Cooking 
Heart and Stroke Foundation recipes are approved by registered dietitians with your heart health in mind. You'll find hundreds of recipes high in fibre, but low in saturated fat, cholesterol and salt. And did I mention they're delicious? Browse the archives or try these new seasonal offerings:

Eat Right Ontario is another source of dietitian-approved, nutritious recipes. Managed by Dietitians of Canada, this site offers a menu planning tool as well as A-to-Z answers on a wide variety of nutrition topics. 

Step-by-step how-to videos featuring Heart and Stroke Foundation home economist Emily Richards teach you how to prepare simple recipes with healthy whole grains including buckwheat and quinoa. 

Smarter Shopping 
Heart & Stroke Health Check is your go-to web destination to identify healthier choices at the grocery store. Browse the product listings before you shop; they've all earned the Health Check designation after evaluation by registered dietitians to meet nutrient criteria based on recommendations in Canada's Food Guide. 

My Heart & Stroke Health Check Recipe Helper app provides healthy recipes for any meal occasion and lets you make a grocery list on the go! Just download it to your smartphone.
My Heart & Stroke Health App delivers the Recipe Helper along with other useful e-tools, including our Risk Assessment and Blood Pressure Action Plan. 

Healthy Weight 
The Heart & Stroke Healthy Weight Action Plan is brand new and improved - a personalized, step-by-step online program that will help you improve your health. The plan guides you through assessing your current eating and activity habits, setting goals and taking steps to reach and maintain a healthy weight. You'll receive weekly emails with tips and advice, focusing on the fundamental skills you need to reach your goals. The tool is currently available in English only.
