June 26th ... 5 days to summer...

Step up your workouts. Increasing the intensity of your exercise regimen by including interval training or heavier weights could help you burn more calories AFTER you work out, even if you go home and lie on the couch! For interval training you can try alternating three minutes of moderate intensity cardiovascular activity (i.e. walking, biking, running, stair climbing etc.) with 30-60 seconds of higher intensity activity.  To use heavier weights, start with low weights and increase slowly over time. It is a good idea to seek the advice of a certified fitness professional to ensure correct form, help prevent injury and get the most out of your workouts. It is also advised to check with your physician when starting a new exercise regimen.
