Staying Healthy With Diabetes

I'm part of: The Canadian Diabetes Association
#1 Health Goal: Manage type 1 diabetes
Biggest Challenge: Manage lows and highs of blood glucose and avoid complications of type 1 diabetes.
Biggest Accomplishment: Being part of the Canadian Diabetes Association's British Columbia Speakers Bureau and educating the community on prevention of type 2 diabetes via making healthy choices through diet and exercise; surviving type 1 diabetes for 30 years with no complications and having a supportive partner.
I will continue to Live Right Now by: Making healthy choices and continuing with my exercise program (i.e. yoga, walking) and enjoying my quality of life.
Personal Tip for Canadians: Do what you love to do and make a healthy choice whether eating at home or outside; choose exercise you love; make it happen 30 minutes a day and engage in activities that you have a passion for.
