Set Process Goals


For the month of June we are counting down 30 Days to Summer with registered dietitian Stefanie Senior. Each day she will reveal a new tip to help you reach your summer health goals. June 4th ... 27 days to summer...


Establish your PROCESS goals. Once you have determined what needs to change, you must set process goals that will help you day-to-day achieve your ultimate goal. Process goals are directly under your control and can relate to your diet, fitness, behaviour or lifestyle. Successful process goals are SMART, meaning that they are 

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Action-oriented
  • Realistic 
  • Time-oriented
Examples include: I will bring my a healthy lunch from home 4 days this week instead of going to the food court OR I will walk for 30 minutes after dinner, 3 days this week OR I will make a grocery list and go grocery shopping every Sunday in June.
