Nancy Plett

The Live Right Now team heard about Nancy Plett through Kamloops Sports and Rec department. She started a Live Right Now Group and volunteered to sign up Kamploopsians following seniors' fitness classes to help them Live Right Now and earn points for their community!

Name: Nancy Plett

I live in: Kamloops, BC

#1 Health Goal: As a personal life coach, work/life balance is important to me. It is important to maintain a healthy balance between work and family life, and not to let anxiety or stress overwhelm me.

Biggest Challenge: Trying to lose 10 pounds. Prior to my 50s, I was able to keep the weight off relatively easily; since turning 50 it has become more of a challenge. I am looking at healthier ways of eating, and keeping track of what I eat, as well as increasing my activity.

Biggest Accomplishment: Last year I had back surgery, and did not have full mobility for months. This made me appreciate the fact that I am now able to be active. So when I saw the Live Right Now challenge I was in! I am committed to keeping active at least 5 days a week, by walking, swimming, skiing, going to the gym or yoga and to reduce stress in my life I mediate.

I will continue to Live Right Now by:
1. Continuing to exercise 5 days a week
2. Drinking less coffee
3. Eating less wheat in my diet.

Personal Tip for Canadians: You can only change what you have control over! Change starts from within, why not start today!

Starting soon: To encourage thoughtful and respectful conversations, for all new accounts, first and last names will appear with each submission to CBC/Radio-Canada's online communities (except in children and youth-oriented communities). Pseudonyms will no longer be permitted for existing community members in June.
