Measures of Success

For the month of June we are counting down 30 Days to Summer with registered dietitian Stefanie Senior. Each day she will reveal a new tip to help you reach your summer health goals. Join the conversation through Live Right Now's Facebook Event, "30 Days to Summer" and share your own tips and successes or post questions and feedback. We will enter your name into a draw for a free Skype nutrition consultation with Stefanie.

Determine your personal measures of success. Will it be your calorie count, food choices, body measurements, fitness level, the way your clothes fit, your energy level, or mood? If weight loss is a goal avoid using the scale as your key measure as it could set you up for feelings of disappointment or failure. Each person loses weight at a different rate and it is difficult to determine just how much you are going to lose on any given diet. Even modest weight loss can improve your health and wellbeing and decrease your risk of disease. Just stay focused on making, maintaining and building positive changes that you can stick to long term.
