Name: Julie Holder

#1 Health Goal: I want to keep my body fit and strong for as long as I can. I will not give in to aging and complacency!  

I will do something for my body every day to improve cardiovascular health & endurance (walking and running), strength (weights) and flexibility (yoga) and I will include rest and relaxation!

I will make mindful choices when eating.

Biggest Challenge: 
My biggest challenge has always been not getting discouraged by setbacks. I am trying to accept there will always be times where I will slack off on exercise and will not make the best food choices but I am learning to get right "back on the horse" and not wallow in guilt! I'm learning I don't have to be perfect; I just have to persevere.

Biggest Accomplishment: 
Running a 10K for Team Diabetes. I have never been a runner or an athlete of any kind, but I am learning to love it. At age 57, I have registered for a half marathon next December and I'm convinced I can do it!

I will continue to Live Right Now by:
1. Move my body - make exercise a habit a minimum of five days a week.
2. Eat mindfully - make the healthier choice.
3. Have workout partners help get me through those tough times and to make it fun.

Personal Tip for Canadians: 
Consider what you value. Many of us say our health is the most valuable thing we have, yet many of us take it for granted. It is within our power and up to us to Live Right Now!  

Taking care of yourself is not a selfish thing. Make yourself a role model, be an inspiration for others. You can help others get healthy by your example. And by getting healthy yourself you will have more energy, live longer and be happier - so you have more positive influence on those you care about and on the world!
