Angie Sabino

Name: Angie Sabino from Toronto, Ontario

I'm part of:
I used "find a dietitian" for guidance and advice from the Dietitians of Canada website and Weight Watchers for the weekly support.

#1 Health Goal:
I worked on a number of small changes to my diet to lose some weight and help improve my blood cholesterol levels. Also, I walk every day - 10,000 steps!!

Biggest Challenge:
My aim was to make some changes and sustain them for good, which is no small feat!!

Biggest Accomplishment:
I lost 15 pounds very slowly over time and kept it off! Not only do I feel better but also my doctor was pleased with my blood work results and cholesterol level.

I will continue to Live Right Now by:
I have a balanced approach to my eating and activity now whereby I sustain the changes I have made. I follow a dietitian's blog as my weekly reminder and conscience that helps me stay on track all year long.

Personal Tip for Canadians:
I have learned that it's really not as difficult to sustain the small changes I've made over time. I used to try very limiting diets that didn't allow me to eat my favorite foods and made me feel that the food I loved the most was "bad" which made me feel guilty. Now, this dietitian's advice is that "all foods fit" and to enjoy your favorites in moderation which is the wisdom I need to keep at it for good.
