Ladies and gentlemen of Canada. With the current lack of hockey, the country had been gripped by Grey Cup fever. Now, with the Argos' celebrations going strong in Toronto, where can we look for something sporting to pass the time (although, it's much more important than just passing time)? Just because the NHL is locked out, it doesn't mean you can't reminisce and relive the best of Hockey Night in Canada.

Two of the names that are now so synonymous with HNIC, Ron MacLean and Don Cherry, told us about how even they grew up with the show. Ron would arrange his day around Hockey Night, saying "I would watch curling 4-5, and then while Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner were on I'd rifle over to 7/11 and I'd get my red nibs and my Mountain Dew slurpee... I had everything that I needed to watch the game. I had to watch the start, right? I didn't want to miss a word."

When Don Cherry's love of Hockey Night materialised, it was still only a radio show: "Hockey Night in Canada never came on with Foster Hewitt until the second period, believe it or not. When he'd come on, we'd already had our baths and we had our cocoa and we were round the radio... his voice... I'd get chills listening to his voice."
