VIDEO: Kings of Leon Helps Kick Off the NHL Season

It's a happy day for hockey fans. The puck drops tonight on the 2013-14 NHL season with an all-Canadian doubleheader. The Montreal Canadiens will battle the Toronto Maple Leafs followed by a face-off between the Edmonton Oilers and the Winnipeg Jets

Hockey Night in Canada will have both of those games for you. But before the players hit the ice, Grammy-winning rock band Kings of Leon will help get the party started in Montreal. They're headlining the Molson Canadian NHL Face-Off festival, hosted by CBC's own George Stroumboulopoulos (an admitted die-hard Habs fan).

The Nashville rockers will perform two of their songs live during the HNIC pre-game show, Hockey Tonight, hosted by Ron MacLean and the Studio 42 Crew. The band will hit the stage around 6:45 p.m. ET. Plus, the whole concert will be live streamed at

The boys released their sixth album, Mechanical Bull, on Sept. 24 after a two-year hiatus. Already they're ruling the charts, reaching No. 1 in the UK for a fourth straight time.

We caught up with half of the Followill four - brothers Nathan and Caleb - who are excited to take part in tonight's big face-off.

"We're probably going to play a lot of fast rock songs just to get 'em all amped up and pumped up," Caleb said.

"We want to see a lot of penalty minutes," joked Nathan. "It's just going to be electric in the air. We can't wait."

You can catch all of tonight's season opener festivities on Hockey Night in Canada starting at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PT) on CBC Television.
