With many businesses across Canada still struggling to survive the recession, business owners continue to face big decisions when it comes to the future of their companies. Enter entrepreneurial icons Jim Treliving and Arlene Dickinson. The duo from CBC's Dragons' Den are back for another season of The Big Decision - premiering tonight (Oct. 16) - and want to help another group of business owners if the companies can rise to the challenge.
Each one-hour episode will once again follow two Canadian companies in desperate need of expert advice and a potential investment - which Jim and Arlene can provide. The pair will decide at the end of the episode whether to invest in one, both or neither of the companies on the verge of collapse.
Tonight's season premiere documents Synstone; a company that makes panels which are used in schools and office buildings across the country, but has crippling issue of demand outweighing supply and family-owned Sauve's Home Centre; that's feeling the hard effects of competitive big box retailers.
