Taylor Swift Heading to Saskatoon for CCMA Generation Award

We Are Never Getting Back Together, like, ever

She has the most popular song in the world at this very moment - sitting proudly atop the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in the USA - so you might just have heard of Taylor Swift. One of the most popular country music artists of all time, Swift has (along with acts like Canada's Shania Twain) really widened the audience for country music around the world.

She's already received over one hundred industry awards and now Taylor Swift will be the first recipient of the Canadian Country Music Association's Generation Award - you can see it all live on CBC on September 9. Adding to the three previous CCMA Awards for Top Selling Album, "Taylor Swift embodies every aspect of the CCMA Generation Award," said Ted Ellis, Chair of CCMA Board of Directors.

To commemorate thirty years of the Canadian Country Music Association Awards, the newly-created Generation Award highlights and honours those internationally celebrated artists that have introduced country music to a wider audience across the globe.

Taylor joins some other huge names in country music heading to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, for #CountryNightInCanada on September 9. Performers on the night include Dean Brody, Eric Church, Deric Ruttan, Jason Aldean, Johnny Reid, Gord Bamford and Miranda Lambert.

The ceremony will be live on CBC from 8pm (8.30 NT). You can follow all the behind-the-scenes action on Twitter with us @CBCLive.
