Take Your Kid To Work Day: CBC Edition

If you were at the CBC Toronto headquarters yesterday (Nov. 7) you may have noticed an influx of students - specifically ones in Grade 9 - floating around. Although they weren't in school, hopefully they still learned something. Students in Grade 9 across the country had the opportunity to spend the day in the workplace with a parent, relative or friend for Take Your Kid To Work Day and some of our very own colleagues brought in their family members to show them what its like to work at CBC.

CBC News' Dwight Drummond and Anne-Marie Mediwake joined in on the CBC/Grade 9 experience. While walking the halls, Dwight and his Godson Aaron Williams ran into Rick Mercer.

And student Rachel White not only got on the CBC News set with Anne-Marie and Dwight, she had the chance to meet CBC chief news correspondent Peter Manbridge.

Speaking of Peter, a group of students were able to pick his brain about careers, working in news and anything else they wanted to know.

Also getting in on the work day fun were CBC News' Diana Swain's daughter and Marketplace's Tom Harrington's daughter.

We hope everyone had a great time yesterday and who knows, maybe the experience has sparked future CBCers.
