Strombo, Dragons' Den Stars and More Share Birthday Wishes for CBC's Metro Morning
April 3, 2013By Leah Collins
Some birthday parties rage until 5:30 a.m. If you're CBC Radio's Metro Morning, it makes more sense to start the party around then - the same hour Torontonians face the day with help from Matt Galloway and the rest of the Metro Morning team.
The CBC show turned 40 April 3. So at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Metro Morning opened their 40th birthday party to the public.
First on the itinerary, a live broadcast from the Glenn Gould Studio at Toronto's CBC building. There was music from the likes of Divine Brown and Blue Rodeo's Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, and then they took the "after-party" to the Barbara Frum Atrium. (The after-party, in this case, being a civilized Q&A.) The Metro Morning crew, including beloved former host Andy Barrie, took questions from fans all morning, but now it's time to open the presents.
And plenty of personalities -- from CBC stars to Ontario premiere Kathleen Wynne -- have prepared gifts straight from the heart.
