Seven Celebrity Hockey Fans

Sports and celebrity is a connection as old as time -- these days it's expected that you'll see the likes of a Jack Nicholson in the front row of a Lakers game or a Kardashian entering the bonds of marital bliss with an NFL or NBA star.

This year's Stanley Cup Playoffs are under way and already there have been some surprising results. The Playoffs are the culmination to another huge season of CBC's Hockey Night in Canada. Of course, when there's a big game, you can be sure there will be lots of celebrity goodness in attendance. Major hockey fans like Alan Thicke (how about them Kings?) and David Boreanaz have already shared their favourite hockey stories with us.
As we enjoy more of the playoff action from another big NHL year, here are some more of the biggest die-hard celeb hockey fans around.

Mike Myers

Canadian Movie Star Mike Myers is a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He even starred in The Love Guru, a movie that showcased the Leafs. Unfortunately for Myers, the Leafs have been as impressive as his latest string of movies.

Carrie Underwood

Country Music Star, Carrie Underwood is not only a fan of former Ottawa Senator, Mike Fisher @mikefisher1212 she's also his wife. Since she was a bigger fan of home games than away games, she was overjoyed when the Senators traded Fisher to the Predators so he'd be closer to her home in Nashville.

Colin Hanks and Kevin Smith

@Colin_Hanks, the son of Hollywood Royalty Tom Hanks is a big fan of the NHL. He's about to become an even bigger fan as there are rumours that he's been cast in the new Hockey themed movie, Hit Somebody, from New Jersey Devils fan @ThatKevinSmith.

Denis Leary

Actor, Comedian and Boston native @DenisLeary is a fan of his hometown Bruins. He's been known to flood a backyard rink behind his Connecticut home.

Viggo Mortensen

Actor Viggo Mortensen has been a fan of the Montreal Canadiens since he was kid. He's such a fan that he wore a hockey shirt under his armour during the filming of Lord of the Rings. At this year's Genie Awards, he brought a Habs flag with him to protect his statuette...

Matthew Perry

Massachusetts born and Ottawa raised actor, Matthew Perry is a 'Friend' of the Ottawa Senators and is often seen in the stands when he's in town.
