Sam Roberts Band, Of Monsters and Men headlining CBCMusic.ca Festival

So maybe you're interested in celebrating Canada Day early - about a month and six days early. Maybe a trip to the lake shore is in order - an entire day spent on the sand - and, if possible, some music courtesy Sam Roberts Band, Sloan, Kathleen Edwards, Corb Lund and a few more acts so Canadian you'll be sweating maple syrup by nightfall.

CBCMusic.ca has you covered.

May 25 at Toronto's Echo Beach they'll host the first ever CBCMusic.ca Festival, a full-day showcase that's as diverse as the free digital music service is awesome.

Sam Roberts Band will headline - as will Of Monsters and Men. (If you're familiar with the latter band's "Little Talks", you'll know they're from Iceland -- but let's just say they're honorary Canucks. They're nominated for a 2013 Juno Award, after all.) Also on the bill: Kathleen Edwards, Sloan, Corb Lund, Half Moon Run, Jarvis Church, Elisapie, Aidan Knight,
Kae Sun
and Shakura S'Aida.

And to make the experience even more like bringing a CBCMusic.ca playlist to life, watch for special appearances from CBC talent throughout the day. Q host Jian Ghomeshi will be around to MC, plus a live edition of The Debaters will go down on the Echo Beach stage. Expect to spot more talent on the sand May 25; CBC promises to announce more RSVP'd stars in the weeks ahead.

A fireworks display has not been confirmed. Bring your own Canadian flag cake.

General admission tickets are set at $59.50 + service charge, and for more information, visit CBCMusic.ca. Pre-sale starts Friday, March 15 at 10 a.m. ET. and you'll need a password to participate. Type in CBCMUSIC when you visit the pre-sale site.
