CBC has today (October 24) announced the final name representing a 2012 Scotiabank Giller Prize nominated book at next week's gala in Toronto: Olympic Gold medalist Rosie MacLennan will present Alix Ohlin's novel Inside. To add to the anticipation, it's also been announced that Jacob Hoggard - the Hedley frontman - will take to the stage to perform an adapted version of his record I Won't Let You Go (Darling), accompanied by Jorden Morris. Morris is a choreographer and former principal dancer with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
"I am honoured to be asked back to the Scotiabank Giller Prize to perform this year," said Hoggard who represented Zsuzsi Gartner's Better Living Through Plastic Explosives in 2011. "I admire the organization's devotion to the celebration of arts and culture in Canada."
Rosie MacLennan will join the previously announced presenters Rick Mercer, Kim Cattrall, Allan Hawco and Measha Brueggergosman helping to honour the best in Canadian fiction. Jian Ghomeshi hosts the 19th annual Giller Prize Gala on Tuesday, October 30. You can see the gala on CBC Television at 9pm (9.30 NT) and follow all the action online at CBC Books.
