New Digital Companions: Ride Along with Doyle & Sick Day with Mr. D

"At CBC, we don't make TV anymore - we make experiences for the audience," said Tessa Sproule, Director of Interactive Content.

Now you can tag along with Jake Doyle and co. during new episodes of Republic of Doyle using the Republic of Doyle Ride Along App (oh yeah!) and help Xavier Academy's Mr. D skip school with Mr. D "Sick Day".

CBC has once again teamed up with TV Plus and the Konrad Group to bring you the Republic of Doyle Ride Along App - an "extended broadcast companion" allowing you to virtually follow the show every Sunday (or anytime, if you PVR the episode) by syncing your device via the episode's audio. You also get exclusive additional content.

Watch extra scenes, take a closer look at suspects and clues, answer poll questions and network with other Doyle fans through Facebook and Twitter, all while watching the show and during commercials. Monitor everything on your very own crime board and press the "Oh Yeah!" button whenever you like what's going on. Oh, by the way, this app is free and available in the App store or you can play it online (but only while the show is on).

We're really excited about the Republic of Doyle Ride Along App" says Fergus Heywood, Senior Producer of Interactive for Scripted & Commissioned Programming. "This is the first time a CBC scripted show has done something like this, and we're thrilled that it's already so popular with Doyle fans."

And head over to the Mr. D website to help your favourite funny teacher take a "sick day" so he can go golfing with Bill. Mr. D needs to get his wallet inside his desk at school before he can ditch and thus begins an interactive "choose your own adventure" episode that allows you to control Mr. D's every move as he runs into colleagues and other obstacles while trying to navigate the school without getting caught or running out of time. You can connect and play on Facebook (which gives you a few extras) or play via the Mr. D site.

Keep an eye out for more CBC interactive content for your favourite shows Murdoch Mysteries, Arctic Air and Cracked coming soon.
