'Tis the season for giving back and spending the day at CBC. Friday Dec. 7, CBC Toronto will once again open it's doors for its annual fundraiser; Sounds of the Seasons, to support local food banks around the city. And with celebs like Canadian superstar Nelly Furtado set to attend, you'll definitely want to join in.
Between the Glenn Gould Studio and Barbara Frum Atrium, the day is packed with events starting at 5:30 am and running until 6:30 pm including live broadcasts of Metro Morning with Matt Galloway and CBC News Toronto with Dwight Drummond and Anne-Marie Mediwake.
Make sure you get up bright and early and make it out to see Ms. Furtado, among others, perform live during Metro Morning.
In the afternoon, meet your favourite CBC stars like Murdoch Mysteries' Georgina Reilly, Mr. D's Naomi Snieckus, Booth Savage and Suresh John and personalities like Sports Weekend's Scott Russell, Laugh Out Loud's Craig Norris, CBC Music's Tom Power, As It Happens' Jeff Douglas and more.
Fans will also get the chance to participate in a CBC silent auction and have a chance in receiving one of CBC's guest radio host Kevin Sylvester's limited-edition linocuts.
All you need to do is bring a nonperishable food or cash donation to Sounds of the Season and admission is free. Take a look as CBC Toronto presents Sounds of the Season 2012:
You can always bring in and drop off a food donation to any of the CBC Toronto building entrances - 250 Front St. West, 25 John St, or 205 Wellington Street West - at any time.
For those out West, CBC British Columbia will also host their Open House & Food Bank Day from 5:30 am to 7 pm on Dec. 7 as well.
On top of the event, CBC Vancouver is giving the chance to win a personalized holiday getting from your favourite CBC star like George Stroumboulopoulos or one from Arctic Air, Murdoch Mysteries, Heartland, Dragons' Den, Marketplace, CBC News Now, CBC Sports or CBC News Vancouver. The contest closes on Wednesday Dec. 5 at 11:59 pm, so visit CBC Vancouver's Facebook page for full contest details and to enter.
