Martin Short to Host New Canadian Screen Awards

That's right. Martin Short - one of Canada's beloved comedic geniuses - will bring his talent to the stage in his homeland once again as the first ever host of the Canadian Screen Awards.


CBC will broadcast the Canadian Screen Awards along with Martin Short live in March 2013. Earlier this year, Mr. Short made the CBC special I Martin Short, Goes Home and CBC Live spoke to him about what it was like coming back to Canada and making a movie for the CBC...

The inaugural broadcast award show - combining what were previously the Gemini and Genie Awards - will honour the best in Canadian film and television, as well as digital entertainment.


CBC broadcasted both the Gemini and Genie Awards this past year, where we streamed live from backstage in the Tom Green Room at the Geminis, and live from the red carpet and backstage at the Genies:
