Just For Laughs Boasts 'Best Gala Lineup of All Time'

Over the last three decades, Montreal's Just For Laughs - the world's largest comedy festival - has seen a lot of famous faces grace its stage. And this year, the fest is calling for its "best gala lineup of all time," with ten performances over five nights. The JFL gala series features a who's who of stand-up superstars and kicks off tonight at Place-des-Arts.

Here's a breakdown of the big names:


L- Dane Cook, R - Seth Meyers -- Just For Laughs

Comedy king Dane Cook gets the laughs started at the 7 p.m. gala with the help of guests Jeremy Hotz, Harland Williams and others. Then at 10 p.m., it's live from Montreal with Saturday Night Live alum Seth Meyers! This gala also features Hannibal Buress, Debra DiGiovanni, Sean Cullen and more. 


L- Dane Cook, R - Seth Meyers -- Just For Laughs

Hometown hero and Knocked Up star Jay Baruchel hosts the 7 p.m. show filled with friends like Amy Schumer, Bo Burnham and Moshe Kasher. British comedian Eddie Izzard hosts the late edition with special guest Gad Elmaleh.


L- Kristin Chenoweth, R - Kathy Griffin -- Just For Laughs

It's ladies' night for the Friday galas. Triple-threat Kristin Chenoweth brings her singing, dancing and comedy to Montreal for the 7 p.m. show. Then the sassy Kathy Griffin takes the stage to host the 10 p.m. slot, with Danny Bhoy, Gavin Crawford and more. 


L- Joan Rivers, R - Sarah Silverman -- Just For Laughs

Comedy queen Joan Rivers is 80 years young and never stops with the laughs. She'll host an early gala at 5 p.m., featuring Jen Kirkman, Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood and other awesome acts. The hilarious Sarah Silverman takes the stage in the evening for two back-to-back shows with a slew of special guests. 


Whitney Cummings -- Just For Laughs

Funny lady Whitney Cummings wraps the JFL galas with a 7 p.m. show, along with special guest Jim Norton. Expect lots of laughs. 

CBC will be taping four of the galas (those hosted by Eddie Izzard, Kristin Chenoweth, Kathy Griffin and Joan Rivers), to air at a later date on CBC Television

Speaking of which, several stars from the Ceeb are representing at the festival. Mark Little from Mr. D will appear at tonight's late gala, hosted by Seth Meyers. He's also performing in the sketch comedy play, Mark & Kyle Go To Prom, until July 27. 

Another Mr. D personality, Mark Forward, is set to hit the stage. He'll be appearing in The Alternative Show with Andy Kindler on July 25, followed by Funny As Hell on July 26.  

The Debaters' Steve Patterson, is on stage this week with his show, This is Not Debatable. He'll also appear at the July 26 early gala hosted by Kristin Chenoweth.
