Something tells us Heartland's Ty and Amy will enjoy a very long engagement. (If it's taken six whole seasons for those crazy kids to get together, what's another seven or so?) But the CBC drama's star, Amber Marshall, made things official in real life this summer, marrying long-time boyfriend Shawn Turner July 27 at their southern Alberta ranch.

Marshall shared the first photos on Facebook and Instagram (and she'll be making more public in August when she releases a special "wedding" issue of her fan magazine).

The bride went down the aisle on horseback, like something straight out of her CBC drama.

"Once the vows were said, papers signed and a romantic kiss shared, Shawn and I climbed back aboard our horses and rode off into the setting sun!" Marshall wrote on her Facebook page.

"The ceremony was short and to the point, and very special. There was some humour, some tears of joy, and overall pure happy bliss."

But for all the details -- from the couple's first dance (to Garrett Hedlund's "Timing is Everything") to reactions from her (famous?) friends and family, check back to CBC Live in the coming days. Our team was there to capture every moment on tape and you're invited to watch all the action in an upcoming web series.

Heartland continues to film its seventh season in Alberta, so no word on the newlyweds' honeymoon plans ... though we imagine it might go something like the music video the couple starred in two years ago. (This time 'round, they'd better ditch the singer who keeps following them. Young marrieds, even ones on TV, need their privacy.)
