Heartland to Doc Zone: This is What Award-Winning TV Looks Like

Scroll below. The three videos posted here are what award-winning television looks like, because over the weekend at the Banff World Media Festival, three CBC programs were big winners at The Rockies.

The honour, which is also more formally known as or the Banff World Media Awards, recognizes the best in international media production.

And among this year's elite are:

Heartland!

Season 6 episode "Great Expectations" was named the best youth fiction program.

The Nature of Things!

David Suzuki's journey into Ecuador and Bolivia, "Andean Adventure," was celebrated as the best environmental/wildlife program of the year.

Doc Zone!

Ric Esther Bienstock and Simcha Jacobovici's feature Age of Anxiety scored an award for best social and humanitarian documentary.

Again, you can watch them all right here, and for more information on Canadian Rockies winners, read about the awards at CBC News. The Banff World Television Festival runs through June 12. This year's featured guests include Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Arrested Development's Will Arnett.
