Support Local Food Banks this Season with CBC

This holiday season, CBC has many ways you can give the gift of giving no matter where you live in Canada. CBC Food Banks are located across the country at many CBC headquarters; some of which are hosting festive fundraising events as well. To make sure you don't miss out on any of the giving, we've put together a guide so you can support food banks and help make someone else's holidays more merry.

Join us at CBC Toronto for Sounds of the Season (Dec. 7 - 5:30 am to 6:30 pm) where a food or cash donation will give you free admission to the all-day event including a live performance from Canadian superstar Nelly Furtado, live broadcasts of Metro Morning and CBC News Toronto and meet-and-greets with Matt Galloway, Dwight Drummond and Anne-Marie Mediwake, Q's Jian Ghomeshi, Murdoch Mysteries' Georgina Reilly, Mr. D's Naomi Snieckus, Booth Savage and Suresh John, Sports Weekend's Scott Russell, Laugh Out Loud's Craig Norris, CBC Radio's Tom Power, As It Happens' Jeff Douglas and more. Check it out:

Also, take part in a CBC silent auction with all proceeds going to Toronto Food Banks. Take a look at one of the items up for bid from Steven and Chris:

For those out West, join CBC Vancouver's Open House & Food Bank Day (Dec. 7 - 5:30 am to 7 pm) and stars like George Stroumboulopoulos, Arctic Air's Adam Beach and Pascale Hutton, Heartland's Graham Wardle, Jessica Amlee and Alisha Newton, Dragons' Den's David Chilton, Marketplace's Erica Johnson and Tom Harrington and more during the day with your food or cash donation.

CBC Victoria, Kelowna, Kamloops, Prince Rupert and Prince George each have their own Food Bank Day on Dec. 7 full of open houses, live broadcasts and meet and greets where fans are encouraged to come out and make a donation.

CBC Calgary Suncor Engery Food Bank Drive has activities throughout Dec. 3 to 24 with the goal of raising $1 million for Calgary food banks.

CBC Saskatchewan Comfort & Joy Campaign will kick off Dec. 10 to 17 and you can give funds to help give Christmas dinner packages to those in need.

CBC Hamilton has teamed with Hamilton Food Share and invited the public to drop off donations from Dec. 7 to 21. Any donation made will automatically enter you to win a CBC Sounds of the Season gift package.

No matter where you are, help others out this holiday season by donating to your local food bank at CBC buildings.
