You may be used to having your dates with Canada's boyfriend, George Stroumboulopoulos, later on in the evening. Starting tonight, you're going to have to clear that space in your calender for a little earlier as Strombo moves to primetime.
George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight kicks off season nine on CBC with his earliest time slot yet: 7pm. The first incarnation of the show - The Hour - did indeed debut in primetime on CBC News Network, but when he made the move to CBC Television, it was always late night for George. Strombo's been known to take a few risks, and we're sure the change in schedule won't hamper that... take a look at what George had to say to us about his time at CBC:
There are some big changes in store for George and his team. Along with his new timeslot, there's a new set, a new format and a new (awfully slick) website. But with George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, one thing will never change: there will always be some of the world's most interesting and influential people in that red chair. Like Jackie Chan this Tuesday (September 18). Here's a little sneak peek as to what you can expect:
That may be your first time seeing a glimpse of George's new set, but we here at CBC Live decided to document the process of building said new home. Have a look at our cool time lapse of the new set in the Toronto Production Centre's Studio 43:
And don't forget, every Sunday night at 8pm (8.30 NT) George and his team bring you The Strombo Show on CBC Radio 2. The spirit of radio is alive and well as the guys are back to bring you the best new music on the Magnificent Seven, profile up and coming DJs on The Blend and so much more. If you love music like George loves music, the Strombo Show is your Sunday Service.
