Dragons' Den and Students Open the TSX

Student Hongwei Liu, David Chilton, Arlene Dickinson and student Peter Miller at TSX

Two Dragons from the hit CBC show Dragons' Den took a turn at entering a different kind of den this morning (Oct. 31) at the Toronto Stock Exchange. Arlene Dickinson and David Chilton helped open the market in celebration of young Canadian entrepreneurs and were joined by student pitchers Hongwei Liu, Peter Miller, Alexander Peters and Rohan Mahimker. The students are just some who will be featured on tonight's special all-student episode of Dragons' Den.

Take a look at the countdown to the market open:

There may be plenty of frightening moments for the young entrepreneurs who dare to face the Dragons with their pitches. Fitting, since it is Halloween. However, newest Dragon David Chilton revealed that "the student pitches seen this year were among the most impressive seen all season".

In addition to Dragons' Den being the highest rated Canadian unscripted program on television (the show averages 1.4 million Canadian viewers each week), the show is also a mega hit online with over 650,000 page views each month.

Even if you're not one of the pitchers in tonight's episode, students can still help spread the word about the show via social media and even win a special stuffed Dragon. Check out what you need to do to qualify:
