Dragons' Den Paves the Way for Simon Cowell's Latest Show

The next big thing to come from the success of CBC's Dragons' Den is the inspiration for a brand new entrepreneurial show from none other than television producer mogul Mr. Simon Cowell.

Rumor has it the X-Factor creator has paired up with Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas to launch a new talent show said to be along the lines of an X-Factor show for technology, and shows like Dragons' Den may be to thank.

Recently cited by The Globe and Mail as one of the great television successes that has paved the way for future business shows, Dragons' Den continues to hold records as the highest ranked Canadian unscripted show on television while bringing in an average of 1.3 million Canadian viewers each week. The notable success also goes beyond the television and into additional media platforms. Dragons' Den has an extremely active online community with over 650,000 pages views each month.

If the new tech talent show becomes a reality, it will be Simon Cowell's second attempt at this kind of program featuring aspiring entrepreneurs hungry to launch their business and ready to pitch their million dollar idea. In 2006, Cowell produced American Inventor - a show similar to Dragons' Den - which ended after two seasons. Take a look at a commercial of American Inventor:

CBC's Dragons' Den airs on CBC Television on Wednesdays at 8pm
