Dragons' Den Season 8 Auditions Begin This Weekend

It's the start of a new year and what better way to kick off 2013 than to get your business idea into the Den. So get ready to step right up if you think you can face the Dragons because the search for the next big idea has begun. This weekend, the Dragons' Den 2013 Audition Tour kicks off as producers of the hit CBC show try to find the best entrepreneurs for the eighth season.

These auditions are open to anyone and everyone who is looking for the chance to present their business idea to the Dragons in hopes to receive a financial endorsement. So, no experience is necessary and people of all ages are welcome to come out - even students. In Season Six and Seven, the 'All-Student' episodes were some of the most watched and producers encourage young entrepreneurs to try out. In fact, some students have already auditioned live during Dragons' Den Day in Canada. Check out our video at the celebration as the Dragons spoke about the show:

Anyone who wants to audition in-person will need to be prepared to pitch their idea to the producers in less than five minutes. If you can convince the producers you can make it in the Den, you could be invited to be on the show - which is filmed in Toronto - and face the Dragons.

The first open auditions of the tour are at CBC Toronto building on Saturday January 19. Additional locations and dates have already been announced on the Dragons' Den web page, so take a look for a local venue. Can't find one near you? Don't worry, simply apply online right now.

Think you have what it takes? Then keep an eye out for the audition tour and get out to one near you. Maybe we'll see you on the eighth season of Dragons' Den.

Dragons' Den airs Wednesday at 8pm on CBC
