Check Out a Musical Map of Canada Day

Canada Day knows no borders. Because so long as you can visit CBC.ca/canadacelebrates, you can join in on the confederation birthday party.

CBC-TV, CBC News Network, CBCMusic.ca, CBC Radio One, CBC Radio 2, Espace Musique, Radio-Canada Premiere Chaine -- so, basically everyone affiliated with our national broadcaster -- will have Canada Day coverage on July 1.

But if you're looking for musical spectacle to rival your hometown fireworks, there are a few events to bookmark.

Live, musical entertainment -- all saluting the True North strong and free -- will be livestreamed throughout July 1 from Ottawa, and the Canada Day International event in London, England's Trafalgar Square.

The place to find those shows is at CBC.ca/canadacelebrates.

But who's on the bill?

And which Canadian regions will they be repping in Ottawa -- or London, or the Canada Day International party in New York's Central Park?

We've made a Musical Map of Canada Day to break it down for you:

Can't wait to tune in for all the shows? Here's when to visit CBC.ca/canadacelebrates.

The Ottawa entertainment launches at 11:30 a.m. ET with a pop concert from Parliament Hill; watch for Carly Rae Jepsen, Metric and a special performance from intergalactic folk-rock star Chris Hadfield. (At noon, CBC Radio One will be at another, more mellow, Ottawa show: the Canada Day Songwriters' Circle.) A second pop extravaganza starts at 9 p.m. ET on CBC.ca/canadacelebrates. But before you're ready for a second helping of Carly Rae and pals, London's hoser-rock salute, including performances from The Tragically Hip and The Sheepdogs, goes live on the site at 1:30 p.m. ET with host George Stroumboulopoulos.
