Canada Day knows no borders. Because so long as you can visit, you can join in on the confederation birthday party.

CBC-TV, CBC News Network,, CBC Radio One, CBC Radio 2, Espace Musique, Radio-Canada Premiere Chaine -- so, basically everyone affiliated with our national broadcaster -- will have Canada Day coverage on July 1.

But if you're looking for musical spectacle to rival your hometown fireworks, there are a few events to bookmark.

Live, musical entertainment -- all saluting the True North strong and free -- will be livestreamed throughout July 1 from Ottawa, and the Canada Day International event in London, England's Trafalgar Square.

Can't wait to tune in for all the shows? Here's when to visit

The Ottawa entertainment launches at 11:30 a.m. ET with a pop concert from Parliament Hill; watch for Carly Rae Jepsen, Metric and a special performance from intergalactic folk-rock star Chris Hadfield. (At noon, CBC Radio One will be at another, more mellow, Ottawa show: the Canada Day Songwriters' Circle.) A second pop extravaganza starts at 9 p.m. ET on But before you're ready for a second helping of Carly Rae and pals, London's hoser-rock salute, including performances from The Tragically Hip and The Sheepdogs, goes live on the site at 1:30 p.m. ET with host George Stroumboulopoulos.
