Join Ron MacLean and Don Cherry starting at 12 pm (ET) as the kick off a day of action-packed NHL games - featuring all seven Canadian teams - and will welcome special guests, like NHL Alumni and Olympic athletes, as they look at events happening across the country. Go out and join them live as they broadcast in front of the Under the Lock Hockey Tournament on the Trent Canal, followed by an OHL showdown between the Peterborough Petes and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
According to this year's theme, "Heart", Hockey Day in Canada will be sharing local celebrations, stories of how hockey brings people and communities together and life lessons learned through Canada's game.
"Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada will be an unforgettable day for Canadians, who are devoted fans and truly love this great game," said Olympic gold medalist, Scotiabank Hockey Ambassador and Hockey Night in Canada reporter Cassie Campbell-Pascall. "Canadians are passionate hockey fans and we want to make sure this year's event is a memorable one for everyone whether they attend Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada events or tune into the CBC broadcast."
NHL games start at 2 pm (ET) with a match up between the Edmonton Oilers and the visiting Detroit Red Wings. The Winnipeg Jets will have home ice as they take on the Ottawa Senators at the same time.
Then at 6:30 pm (ET), Hockey Night will bring viewers into the evening games when the Toronto Maple Leafs travel to Montreal to face the Canadiens at 7 pm and the Calgary Flames visit Vancouver to take on the Canucks at 10 pm (ET).
