CBC has once again been named one of the Most Influential Brands in Canada after a study by IPSOS REID, breaking into the top 10 for the second year in a row. The announcement came today (Feb. 1) during the FFWD: Advertising & Marketing Week in Canada.
So, what makes a brand the most influential in Canada? Well, the study identified key factors to measure brand influence including leading edge, trustworthy, presence, corporate citizenship, and engagement.
"From our content creators to our outstanding Communications team, from our partners to our audience, we have amazing brand ambassadors all across Canada, and we say thanks to you," said Kirstine Stewart, CBC's Executive Vice-President of English Services.
Likewise, Bridget Hoffer, Executive Director of Communications, Marketing & Brand also credited the Canadian audience. "It's an honour to be recognized as one of the most influential brands of the year by IPSOS REID for the second consecutive year," she said. "Our brand is a reflection of Canadians and Canadian culture, and it's clear that we continue to connect with Canadians across the country in new, meaningful and engaging ways."
The results of the study were presented by IPSOS REID president Steve Levy on the concluding day of Advertising Week 2013; "celebrating essence of advertising and marketing: Creativity, Ideas, and Communication."
