CBC officially launched CBC Hamilton on May 10 - an innovative new digital service that's part of our commitment to expanding local services to communities from coast to coast.
Residents of Hamilton and the surrounding area are invited to make their way to CBC.ca/Hamilton to get an up to the minute experience with content tailored to them and their respective neighbourhoods.
CBC Hamilton features responsive-design technology that will adapt to your mobile phone or tablet and resize itself accordingly. A "pinned" map of the city acts as a physical representation of all of the stories and events happening in your area. There are traffic alerts, weather, things to do and - of course - local news. It's one of five new local services being rolled out as part of CBC's Strategy 2015: Every One, Every Way, Executive Vice President of English Services Kirstine Stewart said:
"Connecting people to their neighbourhoods and communities is a key part of the service CBC provides to Canadians. We are so pleased to be coming to Hamilton with this innovative new digital service."
CBC reporters Jessica Young, Samantha Craggs, Julia Chapman, well-known local journalist Paul Wilson as well as local bloggers will provide the content from CBC's office located in the heart of the city's arts community. You can follow them on Twitter:
