Many CBC personalities can add "author" to their list of achievements (some have even made the best-sellers list) and others just can't get enough of books. In continuing to celebrate their literary achievements, as well as those of authors from around the world, many great CBC personalities are set to partake in CBC Day at The International Festival of Authors on Saturday (Oct. 20) and you can too.
The festival - which brings together the world's best writers for 11 days in October - features readings, discussions, book signings and more. CBC personalities who will be reading their latest work include studio Q's Jian Ghomeshi (1982), WireTap's Jonathan Goldstein (I`ll Seize the Day Tomorrow) and Spark's Nora Young (The Virtual Self).
We were at Jian's book launch party to capture all of celebrations for 1982. Take a look for yourself:
In addition to CBC personalities/authors attending the festival, CBC radio and television members will act as interviewers/hosts throughout the day such as CBC Radio One's Shelagh Rogers, Craig Norris, Jesse Hirsh, CBC Books' Erin Balser and Becky Toyne, Quirks and Quarks host Bob McDonald, As It Happens co-host Jeff Douglas, Writers & Company's Eleanor Wachtel, Babel's Mariel Borelli, Definitely Not the Opera's Sook-Yin Lee and former Governor General of Canada and CBC journalist Adrienne Clarkson.
