CBC is the exclusive broadcaster for the 100th Calgary Stampede, sure to live up to its billing as "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth". The fun all starts on now and will run over every platform you can imagine on CBC.

On Thursday, July 5th, CBC will host a celebration in honour of the Stampede's one hundreth year, live from the Palomino Room at Stampede Park. We'll be streaming live from the Red Carpet in the afternoon (from 5.30pm MT) with hosts Suhana Meharchand of CBC News and Shaun Johnston of Heartland. The event will include musical performances, appearances from the stars of CBC and a glimpse of the people and traditions that continue to make the Stampede what it is today. The party itself will be broadcast live on CBC Television in Alberta at 7pm MT and on the bold channel across the country.

There will be a host of other events live on CBC Television and online. Check out some of the highlights:
CBC Stampede Breakfast on Thursday, July 5th at 7am MT: CBC will celebrate cowboy culture and heritage at the Calgary Broadcast Centre with live music, dancing, western-style performers, and special guests. The Calgary Eyeopener is live from 6 - 8:30am MT.
From 7-10am MT, Suhana Meharchand will host CBC News Now live from the centre of the action at the CBC Stampede Breakfast.
CBC Music will unveil a special digital radio station - Stampede 100 - in celebration of the Calgary Stampede's Centennial, launching July 4 and running until July 27. This new limited edition digital channel features 100 cowboy-inspired songs compiled by Daybreak Alberta listeners and host Russell Bowers.
Kids' CBC programming from July 7 to July 15: Patty Sullivan and Mamma Yamma will also head west, telling Sid about all the things to see at the Calgary Stampede. Patty, Sid and Mamma Yamma will be on the Stampede grounds for live shows on the Coca-Cola Stage on Saturday, July 7, at 11am, 12:30pm and 3:30pm MT (times subject to change).
CBC News Calgary will provide daily coverage of the Calgary Stampede from July 6 to July 15. Danielle Savoni will be on the Calgary Stampede grounds with live weather reports each day. During the weekdays, The Calgary Eyeopener will also have daily coverage of the Stampede, while The Homestretch will have a round up of the day's rodeo events.
