After we caught up with Adam Beach on Friday to talk about his new CBC series, Arctic Air, which debuts in January, he checked out Toronto's aboriginal restaurant, Keriwa Cafe.
He chatted with Chef Aaron Joseph Bear Robe (below, left) about the philosophy of the restaurant, which incorporates both aboriginal and non-aboriginal culinary techniques and traditions that make up Canada's culinary heritage, using seasonal ingredients.
Adam, star of Law & Order: SVU, Big Love, Cowboys and Aliens and Flags of Our Fathers, plays the lead character of Bobby in Arctic Air, a one-hour drama set in Yellowknife, about a "maverick airline". He was born in Ashern, Manitoba and is Salteaux, a branch of the Ojibwe nations. He was raised on the Dog Creek First Nation Reserve at Lake Manitoba.
