The Canadian comedy "Little Mosque on the Prairie" will get a makeover for U.S. television.
National Post, Tuesday, June 10, 2008
As a fan of the show, I wonder about this news. There really isn't much of anywhere in Canada where one can escape US television networks, and they have the cash and the television audience that just isn't available here. Is it wise for the original (and most certainly best) Little Mosque to compete for eyeballs in Canada with a (presumably) better-funded, US-based Little Mosque clone? I'd hate to see a scenario where the original gets cancelled due to reduced viewership, and only the US "clone" series is still available on TV.
Regardless, my wife and I are really looking forward to Season 3. Our TiVo is at the ready :).

why does it need a make-over the original is possibly the best show I've seen on tv in a long time.
I'm a non-tv watcher who got so hooked I bought boths season and am in withdrawal waiting for the 3rd.

i live in the u.s. and i really like this show, i don't understand why they would want to make a different version of it for a different country? why not just air the show on channels here. it's stupid to make a clone.

I live in the US and I am SICK of getting second hand versions of everything because the rest of the world thinks I can't handle the real thing! I can't wait for season three, and I don't want something half-way!

Can't see why they'd want to mess with such a good show. It's fine the way it is. To bring it here would ruin it.
