May 3, 2018
The Ontario government announced this morning that it's signed three groundbreaking resource revenue-sharing agreements with northern Ontario First Nations. The agreements involve First Nations covered by Grand Council Treaty #3, Wabun Tribal Council and Mushkegowuk Tribal Council. Ontario will share 45 per cent of annual stumpage revenues from forestry operations in the First Nations' territories. Judy Maunula is the Chief of Lac de Mille Lacs First Nation. She uses her Anishinawbe name of White Cloud during her dealings as chief.
