A letter to our audience

There’s something different...
You’re absolutely right, there is something different—and we hope you’re as pleased as we are.
We’ve revamped CBC.ca, improving the navigation and design, getting the website ready for its exciting evolution over the coming months—which will include more web-delivery of CBC’s multi-platform content and more opportunities for audience engagement and interaction. We’ve increased the amount of content and improved the way it’s presented, and we’ve also introduced a more user-focused experience, giving you exactly what you came here for.
Here are some of the changes at CBC.ca:
- A revamp of the CBC.ca home page to create a new portal that showcases the entire CBC experience across all its platforms and programs.
- The creation of a new sports portal at CBCsports.ca—including more video and dynamic information. You can now watch live coverage of sporting events, like the FIFA U-20 soccer tournament this summer, and access live-updated statistics from amateur and professional sports from around Canada and the world.
- The creation of a newly designed news portal at CBCnews.ca—including more content, a new media player featuring CBC News audio and video, and lists of the most-viewed, most-e-mailed and most-blogged stories.
- The launch of a new CBC Radio portal with more live streaming, on-demand audio programming, and better access to the full range of content on both networks from all regions across the country.
We’re listening to you; we know you’re looking for these technological innovations—and it’s our job at CBC to give them to you. The digital media landscape is constantly evolving, with new innovations being developed every day—and Canadians expect us to be ahead of the curve. This is why millions of you come to CBC.ca every day for the latest in news, arts, entertainment and sports.
We’ve already launched our News and Sports portals, with Entertainment and other sites to follow later this summer. Enjoy, and thanks for visiting.

We Value Your Feedback

Thank you all for your feedback...
This is still a work in progress. Rest assured, we listen to your feedback, watch how the site is actually used, and conduct studies so that we can provide an engaging and valued service to Canadians. As we said, "The digital media landscape is constantly evolving, with new innovations being developed every day."
We will very soon add clearer navigation to the best local news, weather and information with a "My Region" tab, right at the top, which will take you directly to www.cbc.ca/canada. And as we continue to improve our regional service, soon clicking on that button will take you directly to the landing page of your own region.
Plus, don’t forget our "Across Canada" feature (located on the new www.cbc.ca/radio page) highlighting the best of the region's news and features. Again, we're reading all of your comments, and considering the role of events, entertainment, weather, etc., as part of a complete regional package.
The idea of the new CBC.ca is to promote the best that CBC has to offer, that day, from all of our areas—entertainment, sports, news, music and so on. Those of you who highly value our regional and breaking news or sports will find it just one click away from our new homepage. If you value news or sports above all else and want breaking news as it happens, then remember you can also bookmark CBCnews.ca and CBCsports.ca.
We've already started thinking about the next version of CBC.ca—what it should include, and the issues we need to address. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy our new News, Radio and Sports portals, our improved content and features—and please look for Entertainment and other sites to follow later this summer.
Thank you for the comments.
Regards,
