When I think of Canada, I imagine a moose balancing a polar bear on his head. And the polar bear is wearing a plaid coat, which he stole from a lumberjack - who is drunk on maple syrup and Nickleback. But one image that never comes to mind, when dreaming of Canada, is the image of a SCIENTIST. But, my fellow true-North-strong-and-good-looking, Canada deserves a little respect (just a little bit) for our scientific achievements!
We have a giant metal arm floating in space, flexing its giant metallic biceps for the world to swoon. We invented insulin. We invented 5 pin bowling. We invented zippers. And we invented garbage bags.
Well, actually, WE didn't really... But Canadian people did! And for that we should be proud!
So, next time you're rolling paint at an iMAX theater, while electric street cars deliver you sheets of Plexiglas, just take a moment to appreciate the Canadian-ness of it all. Canadians invented all of those! And next time you imagine a Canadian Moose. Imagine a scientist riding it! ...because when it comes to Science, Canada has got the goods!
