It really didn't start all that great for me, actually.

Friday night, I was in a hurry to get somewhere when I had to stop at the ATM. I was standing next in line, bank card at the ready, when it struck me that the gentleman ahead of me was talking an inordinate amount of time.

Was he re-financing his home?

Anyhow, I thought to myself, "COME ON!" And he wheeled around and stared at me. It was only then that I realized that I hadn't just thought it, but said it (sort of) aloud. He began to berate me for not having respect for him and society and the "process".

I felt bad for a second. Just a second.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't we allowed to have pet peeves? Mine is people who use the ATM in front of me, then linger for five minutes, staring at the statement that the machine spat out.

Actually, that's not my only pet peeve. I would completely respect your pet peeves!! Unless, of course, your pet peeve is impatient people in line at the ATM.
