Westport of Westports

World wide, there are at least 24 places named Westport. You'll find a Westport in New Zealand, England, Ireland, mainland Canada...all parts the United States...and White Bay, Newfoundland. Population 227.

It's one of the smallest in the world, but Newfoundland's Westport is a little outport that dares to dream big. This past summer, it hosted a world wide convention of Westports. A convention that brought people to Newfoundland from Westports all over the continent.

It's a tradition that's gone on for over 20 years now, these world wide conventions. But never before has a Westport so small played host. It was possibly Westport Newfoundland's finest hour...and the chance to make its mark. World wide.
