A deadly accident leads to familiar demands

Last Friday a man died after falling from the roof of an apartment building in Labrador City. The 45-year-old man was working on a roofing project at the time. The industrial accident has sparked a familiar debate in Labrador: Where are the Occupational Health and Safety Inspectors? The province says they’ve spent three years trying to replace two full-time positions. Ron Thomas is the president of Labrador City’s United Steelworkers local. He says it’s taking them way too long. Here he is with Labrador Morning’s Chris Ensing.
