Killer Whales on the Labrador Coast
Pete Ewins - Arctic Wildlife Expert To say they caused a splash in the community would be an understatement. A pod of Killer Whales showed up in Nain on Tuesday, and it had everyone talking. Some people say it’s been a quarter century since Orcas have been so close. Well it turns out, there are quite a few of them that pass by Nain every year, maybe not right in the harbour, but certainly lots of Killer whales travel up and down the coast. In fact there’s a pod that’s being tracked right now that passed by Nain last week. And the World Wildlife Fund is keeping a close eye on it. Pete Ewins is an s an Arctic Wildlife Expert with WWF, and he’s on the phone with Tony Dawson.
