Cell and Internet Concerns

As central Labrador continues to grow… there are questions about whether the region’s communications networks can keep up. Concerns about slow internet speeds in some areas…. on top of what seems like semi-regular outages…. and spotty cell service… all came together in Happy Valley-Goose Bay yesterday. The Labrador North Chamber of Commerce invited Bell Aliant to visit…. and field questions from the area’s business community. Well…. representatives from that business community packed the Canuck Club. Developers are worried about the cost of installing internet and cable in their new buildings. And business reps say the current level of service is affecting their ability to operate. Niamh Roche is with the Eagle River Credit Union.
Geoff Moore and Jennifer Roache are with Bell Aliant… they were there taking questions and comments from the crowd.and, Perry Trimper is the vice president of the Labrador North Chamber of Commerce. He helped organize the meeting… and after it was all said and done… they all spoke with Labrador Morning reporter Matt McCann.
