Funding for health care in Labrador

It seems the Lower Churchill project has an effect on just about everything in the Upper Lake Melville area. Whether it’s business, real estate or even health care. Health Minister Susan Sullivan was in Happy Valley-Goose Bay yesterday to announce 2.2 million dollars for health care upgrades and equipment in the town, as well as North West River and Churchill Falls. And that was her second stop in Labrador. Earlier that day she announced 700 thousand dollars for seven community clinics and health centres on the South Coast. CBC’s Bailey White caught up with the health minister, Labrador Grenfell Health CEO Tony Wakeham, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay’s deputy mayor, Stanley Oliver at the Labrador Health Centre.
