Dr. Anthony Paddon- New naval building in St. John's takes on his name
The Paddon name is well known here in Labrador…. and the late Dr. Anthony Paddon is perhaps the most recognizable. While his given name was William Anthony, he was widly known as Anthony or Tony Padddon. He helped establish clinics, nursing stations and schools…. ran the hospital in North West River…. and travelled up and down the coast. Paddon is also the only Labradorian to serve as Lieutenant-Governor of the province. Now his legacy will carry on….as the brand new naval building in St. John’s takes on his name. David Paddon is Dr. Anthony Paddon’s son. He spoke with Labrador Morning’s Matt McCann about his father, and what the honour means to the family.
