Rigolet - runs out of toilet paper

A frustrated man in Rigolet says the town’s grocery store should not be running out of essentials. He says, earlier this week, the Northern Store ran out of toilet paper for a couple of days. The situation not only has Peter Williams asking some big questions. He had to come up with plan B to find some much needed TP.
John Gaudi spoke with Peter Williams in Rigolet about how he and his family made out.

Police find a stolen polar bear pelt

It was good news and bad news for Jim Shouse. Earlier this week an anonymous call came in to the RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay…. telling them where officers could find a stolen polar bear pelt. The bear skin belonged to a hunter from Nain…. and was worth about ten thousand dollars. It was still curing outside of the Fur Harvesters Auction building on Hamilton River Road when thieves made off with it a few weeks ago. Well…. officers did find the pelt…. and returned it to Shouse. But it wasn’t what he was hoping to see. Here he is talking to Labrador Morning reporter Matt McCann.

Labrador City - declaring war on litter

There’s a lot of talk these days about the massive amounts of litter on the streets and parking lots in Labrador City. It’s usual to see litter after the snow melts but this year seems to be one of the worst in a long time. In some cases parking lots have been cleaned, only to be full of Garbage a few days later. Now Labrador City’s town council says enough is enough. They have a plan in place to deal with it. To find out more , Reporter Mike Power reached Labrador City Mayor Karen Oldford on a plane in Montreal a short time before takeoff.
