Innu talking circle - A way to common ground?
Some parents in Sheshatshiu complain social services aren’t doing enough to reunite them with their children. Last week, protestors showed their frustration by boarding up the Child, Youth and Family Services building in the community. But David Penashue says there is a way to find common ground with all parties. He is the restorative justice co-ordinator in Sheshatshiu. He says parents and social services should meet in a talking circle to discuss the way forward. Our John Gaudi spoke with David Penashue about the concept behind it.
